Adult Religious Education

Picture
UUCQC members Mike Wilcox and Doug McCollum presented a slideshow on their 6-day hike in the Grand Canyon for a Sunday Forum.

Forum

Forum is held at 9 a.m. on Sundays.
Every forum is a new opportunity to hear a different guest speaker on subjects ranging from services of local helping agencies, to social and environmental issues.  Speakers may be congregants or community members. They may be academics, agency CEOs, health care personnel, or representatives of other religions.  One favorite forum takes place twice a year, when the folks from Prairie Lights bookstore in Iowa City highlight new books in many genres (and have these books available for purchase). Forum offers a potpourri for the mind.  The format always consists a speaker presentation and discussion.

Leadership Development

Elected by Congregation at Congregational Meeting in May
Want to ensure excellent leadership within our congregation? Know many of the congregants, their skills and their aptitudes? Have leadership development experience or knowledge? You may want to seek election to the Leadership Development Committee.
Each May, the Leadership Development Committee proposes candidates for terms on the Board of Trustees (including Trustees, Clerk and Treasurer) and for the Leadership Development Committee itself. The Committee also offers leadership development activities to ensure that candidates for the Board and others in various congregational leadership positions have the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to take on leadership roles.
