Annual Budget Drive

Money has everything to do with religion, with the choices that we make about how to be in relationship with ourselves, our neighbors, and with the divine.  Religion is about life and life, it seems, has a whole lot to do with money."
Lynn Unger
The annual budget drive is more than just an opportunity to raise money for the congregation's programs and ministries.  It is also a time to build relationships among our congregation, to seek feedback from individuals on their perceptions of current programming, policies, activities and directions.

Our annual budget drive takes place in February and March and may take varying forms each year.
  • Sometimes we have one-on-one visits between visiting stewards, who are trained to hold this conversation, and individuals or couples (families) who are members or friends of the congregation.
  • Sometimes we hold cottage meetings where a dozen or so congregants gather socially to eat, hear a stewardship program and make their pledges.
  • Sometimes we hold all-church celebrations in honor of generosity, also an opportunity to make a pledge to support the congregation's work for the upcoming year.

We hope you will participate gladly in the annual budget drive process each year, no matter what it is.  It is not only fund-raising, but fun-raising and meaning-raising - an opportunity to get to know fellow congregants better, providing connections that will enrich your life and support the congregation in carrying out its mission and vision for the present and for the future.
