Memorial FundFundraisingStewardship Team |
Memorial Fund - When, upon a person’s death, an unspecified bequest is made to this Congregation, the bequest will normally be deposited into the Memorial Fund. The Memorial Fund is designed to fund things of a permanent nature (like the playground or a new sidewalk or video projection equipment).
UUCQC holds several popular fundraisers each year. In the spring we hold the Coffee House and Silent Auction. In the early summer we have a tremendous Rummage Sale. Joining in these offers great times of working together, not only raising necessary funds for the operation of the congregation, but also providing a great time for all involved, workers and participants! Information on these events are featured on our homepage and in our weekly announcements and monthly newsletter leading up to the events.
Each year we also hold a number of less routine fundraisers. These may be in the form of a musical concert or performance, a speaker on a topic of interest (anything from religion and philosophy to social justice to humor and just plain fun). We recognize one of the great truths of all the world's religions: generosity is central to a healthy life. Giving of time, talent or funds strengthens life's meaning. Our mission and vision call upon us to welcome the stranger, to share our resources, and to care for our planet. This is stewardship.
Each Unitarian Universalist congregation is self-supporting. Our members provide time, talent, and funds to sustain UUCQC. We know that if this congregation is to be here for our children and grandchildren, we must support it now. The Stewardship Team is a year-round team which models and focuses the congregation on year-round generosity, be it time, talent, or treasure. Team members:
