Caring Committee
Like to visit those who are ill — at home, in the hospital, or in a nursing home? Want to support congregation members going through life’s crises or maintain contact with those unable to attend services? Want to support exhausted caregivers, assist new parents, or comfort the bereaved? The Caring Team does all this and more.
This team conducts a ministry of hope and caring so that members of the congregation can feel connected and valued. Sub-teams focus on Long Term Care, Memorial Receptions, Visitation, and New Parents Support. When Does The Caring Team Meet? No regular meetings – a plus! Congregant needs vary and team leaders call for volunteers as needed. |
Pastoral Care |
Lay Pastoral Care Associates is a ministerial program that provides confidential, caring presence to congregants undergoing life challenges. Its mission is to assist the pastor in extending care to the congregation through one-to-one caring and helping activities. Our minister stresses that confidentiality is an integral part of the program, that information would only be shared with others on a need to know basis.
There is an application and additional training to become a Pastoral Care Associate. Please contact the office at office@uucqc.org or 563-359-0816 to get the process started. |
