Religious Education for kids 3 years old through seniors in high school2015-2016 — This year our classes will focus on holidays and holy days celebrations from around the world.
Celebrating religious traditions around the world through stories, food, music and movement gives children and youth a deeper respect and understanding of the variety of beliefs, symbols, rituals and stories of special holy days from many cultures. Come celebrate and grow a deeper understanding of world religions. Classes will be held on Sundays from 10-11 a.m. starting September 13. Registration begins August 30 at 10 a.m. followed by the Imani Dancers as special guests during the 11 a.m. service. For more information about registering for classes, please email UUCQC Director of Youth Religious Education, Sarah Moulton, at re@uucqc.org.
Mission of the Youth Religious Education Program
To nurture and stimulate our children’s spiritual and personal growth and to teach and model the values that hold us together as UnitarianUniversalists. We teach our young people that Unitarian Universalism offers a way of living the best lives they possibly can. They can do this through exploration, responsible choosing, global citizenship and a sense of our spiritual connection with all that exists. We believe in acting on these values in daily living, and our youth come to understand the principles of our faith and to see the relevance of these principles in their own lives. Our Religious Education program rotates yearly between 6 key themes:
